Lazy Lanzarote Holidays

Looking for a really relaxed destination to while away the summer holidays? Then tune into the cool Canary Island of Lanzarote, where the pace of life is seriously laid back. Especially when the temperatures start heading into the 90´s as is often the case here during July and August.

In fact the sun shines here all year round, and it´s possible to enjoy holidays on the island even in December and January. When tourists from across Northern Europe arrive on flights to Lanzarote keen to escape the grey skies and cold weather back home.

Over the summer months many of these visitors book self catering villas in Lanzarote and these are starting to prove more popular than hotels. Which is all thanks to the fact that breaks can be arranged direct online. Accommodation on the island is of a high quality and villas provide holidaymakers with a real home from home experience, providing so much more privacy than a hotel to boot.

On Lanzarote there are a number of holiday resorts where tourists can stay and villas in Playa Blanca in the south of the island are especially popular. As they offer great value for money along with the best weather the island has to offer. Playa Blanca is also home to some of Lanzarote´s finest beaches – such as Playa Flamingo and Playa Dorada. And the famous coves and bays of Papagayo, which are located a twenty minute walk away from the resort centre.

Lanzarote, as a small island, is also very easy to explore. So despite the fact that Playa Blanca is located at the other end of the island from the main attractions these key sights are still just a forty minute drive away. The journey to the north is well worth it too as it takes tourists through some unique scenery, such as the wine region and the volcano park known locally as Timanfaya, home to the famous fire mountains.

Once in the north of the island visitors should head for the Mirador del Rio, right at Lanzarote´s northern tip. This breathtaking lookout point was created by César Manrique, a local artist, and offers visitors a bird’s eye view of the small island of La Graciosa, laid out some 500 metres below. La Graciosa is often referred to as the 8th Canary Island and it can be reached by a regular ferry service from the northern port of Orzola.

Also, you need to find the best place for bed and breakfast while your staty in Lazy Lanzorate.
